These handmade
paper pieces are mixed-media and often incorporate found objects.
Almost all of the materials used in my paper works and to produce them
are recycled whether that is what I use to make the paper or the other
objects incoporated like rusting pieces of metal, stones found along a
pathway, or objects scavenged from elsewhere. The colors are embedded
in the paper
. her moon .
2002
13 x 29 x 3 inches
materials: handmade paper, acrylics,
found objects in metal and concrete, wood
This piece is an
exploration of the feminine, particularly as represented by 'the moon',
an interpretive symbol in esoteric thought, the tarot, and
earth-centered spirituality.
The moon represents deep mystery and intuition...the light moving
through the beautiful dark of night, the boundaries between the self
and the unknown are fluid, the self is receptive with deep sensitivity
and imagination, in a relaxed dream and trance like state where
consciousness expands.
Insights, mystical realities and higher states experienced as this
primal force is tapped
